About AIGNON
The Western-style restaurant AIGNON was established in 1976 in Tagawa City, Fukuoka Prefecture. Founded by the owner's father and mother who incorporated onions into all of their dishes, the restaurant took the name “AIGNON”, name-up combination of "Onion" and inspired by the Zen concept of "A-Un (synchronized)." In 2008, AIGNON was reborn under a new style, upholding its traditions while introducing the concept of “A casual French restaurant where anyone can feel at ease” led by owner-chef Futoshi Honda.
The restaurant offers French cuisine that strikes a balance—neither too casual nor overly formal—ensuring diners can enjoy their meals comfortably. The open kitchen creates a sophisticated space where anyone can dine solo or with companion without feeling self-conscious. Whether as a bistro, a full-fledged restaurant, or a wine bar, AIGNON adapts to suit each visitor’s style. Here, the approach to dining is simple: savor the rich flavors of hearty cuts of meat and fresh vegetables in generous bites, and complement them with a fine glass of wine. At AIGNON, the joy of pairing food and wine comes alive.
Chef Futoshi Honda, a native of Tagawa City, Fukuoka Prefecture, initially began his career as a hotelier, working at the front desk of Solaria Nishitetsu Hotel. Influenced by his parents, he shifted paths and entered the culinary world. At the age of 29, he discovered French cuisine and trained under Mitsuru Hirata of Bistro Mitsu. He later became head chef at sister restaurant Alpine, before opening AIGNON in 2008. His cuisine goes beyond traditional French boundaries, emphasizing the natural essence of each ingredient with dishes that are both simple and bold.
At AIGNON, guests can indulge in the harmonious pairing of flavorful dishes and wine in an adult-focused atmosphere—casual yet dignified. Experience an unforgettable dining moment that can only be found here.
