Gion Fuji is a tempura restaurant located in Kyoto’s Gion district, which opened in April 2020.

We offer a seasonal menu of fresh, local ingredients prepared as tempura.

The tempura is cooked to perfection in front of your eyes at the restaurant’s counter made of granite.

We serve each dish of freshly fried tempura one by one, gauging the best timing to fry them in front of you. You can enjoy them as a course meal, accompanied by various sauces and condiments.

We use only the first pressing of Benibana oil, which is known for its light flavor and ability to bring out the natural sweetness of the ingredients.

You can savor a variety of seasonal ingredients to the fullest without feeling overwhelmed until the end.

  If you have any specific food allergies or ingredients you cannot consume, please inform us in advance. Unfortunately, we cannot accept reservations if there are ingredients that you cannot eat within a wide range.

• Arrival time:

  Please arrive 5 minutes before your reserved time to ensure a timely start of your meal. If you do not contact us and exceed your reservation time, it will be automatically canceled.

• Dress Code:

  Dress code is smart casual (Please refrain from wearing T-shirts, shorts, and sandals when you visit.)

• Children:

  Only those who can enjoy the same course as adults are allowed.

• Others:

  We kindly ask for your consideration regarding excessive perfume or fabric softener fragrances.
