A New Culinary Chapter in Kyoto’s Gion — The Signature Isseki Sancho Experience: “Authentic Chinese × Premium Wagyu BBQ”
Renowned for its imaginative hospitality, theatrical dining, and immersive ambiance, the Isseki Sancho Group proudly opens its first Kyoto location: Kyoto wagyu cuisine issekisancho, the 14th in its growing portfolio. Here, a bold new genre takes shape—melding premium Wagyu barbecue with “seriously authentic” Chinese flavors to create an experience found nowhere else.
Set just beyond the lively heart of Gion, the restaurant offers a serene retreat from the city’s bustle. Rich wooden interiors and a refined sense of warmth define the space, with counter seating and fully private rooms available—ideal for every situation from casual evenings to celebratory gatherings.
The menu showcases meticulously prepared Wagyu, including yakiniku, shabu-shabu, and sukiyaki, all made with carefully selected branded beef sourced from across Japan. Signature dishes such as the Sirloin Yukhoe and Saba Dashi (macarrel stock) Cold Noodles are joined by original creations that incorporate Chinese culinary techniques—aged XO sauce, fermented napa cabbage, and more.
Among the most coveted offerings is a luxurious crab dish featuring three varieties: Taiza snow crab, Kobako crab (female snow crab), and blue crab, layered together in a symphony of flavor. Paired with a house-made XO sauce crafted from 10-year-aged Shaoxing wine, the dish invites guests to savor the richness of the sea with all five senses.
Another standout is the Wagyu Tail Xiaolongbao, filled with golden Tajima beef tail broth. Encased in delicate, house-made dough with a satisfyingly chewy texture, each dumpling is hand-wrapped with care and served with our signature beef soy sauce—bursting with umami in every bite.
