Takanawa Shinzan, founded by owner‑chef Shin Hirayama—a native of Saga Prefecture who refined his craft in both Kyoto and Tokyo—welcomes guests with a spirit of warmth and sincerity, guided by the concept of “bringing Japanese cuisine closer through thoughtful hospitality.”
At the heart of the menu is a full course built around exceptional natural fish delivered directly from the renowned Crazy Fish Market in Misaki Port, Kanagawa, and Saga Beef, the celebrated wagyu brand from the chef’s home region. The restaurant offers seasonal kaiseki cuisine crafted with carefully selected ingredients, concluding with its signature earthenware‑pot rice: premium white rice cooked to perfection in an Iga‑ware clay pot.
The interior features a warm, tranquil atmosphere accented with aged wood, creating a sense of comfort and understated elegance. In addition to counter seating that offers an intimate view of the chef’s craftsmanship, a private table room for up to four guests is also available. Whether for a special gathering with family and friends or an important business occasion, guests can enjoy a relaxed and memorable dining experience.
