The restaurant name "Yuuen(遊猿)" incorporates the zodiac sign of the owner-chef, which is the "Year of the Monkey（申、猿）" coinciding with the restaurant's opening year and the notion of the restaurant being his "playground（遊）" which symbolizes express creativity and enjoyment.
