Muromachi Yui is a Japanese restaurant quietly nestled along Kyoto’s serene Oshikoji Street. Set within a renovated historic townhouse, the restaurant offers a one‑night‑only omakase kaiseki experience—crafted uniquely for that day and that moment.

Owner‑chef Kazuteru Maeda grew up immersed in cooking under his father, who ran a restaurant, and later refined his craft in Kyoto. Free from fixed conventions, he builds each menu around the idea of “delivering what is truly delicious right now.” Only an omakase course is served, and no menu is ever repeated. Through daily dialogue with markets, producers, and the fishing ports of Tango, he selects the finest ingredients of the day and prepares them using the method that best brings out their flavor.

Sake is carefully selected to complement the day’s menu, including a range of vintage bottles. Kyoto sencha (green tea) is also offered, with its blend and brewing method adjusted seasonally to enrich the dining experience.

The interior is a tranquil Japanese space overlooking a courtyard garden. Counter seating allows guests to enjoy watching each dish being prepared and engaging with the chefs, making it an ideal setting for business dinners, anniversaries, and special occasions. Through its cuisine, drinks, and atmosphere, Muromachi Yui delivers a dining experience found nowhere else.
