About
Located just a one‑minute walk from Ningyocho Station, this restaurant offers a tranquil Japanese setting where guests can enjoy domestically sourced eel grilled over charcoal, along with rice cooked over charcoal.
The signature dish, Unaju, features fluffy rice carefully cooked in a special kiln and topped with eel grilled to perfection over charcoal. A secret sauce that has been continuously refined and replenished for over 70 years enhances the eel’s savory aroma and flavor.
The owner‑chef has over 30 years of experience in Japanese cuisine and pays meticulous attention to the dishes that accompany the unaju—such as homemade Japanese pickles and eel liver soup. These simple yet deeply flavorful sides beautifully complement the main dish.
Inside, the restaurant offers counter seating where guests can watch the cooking up close, table seating, and a raised‑platform private room that accommodates 6 to 10 guests—making it suitable for business dinners, gatherings, and casual banquets.
A selection of drinks that pair well with eel is available, including sake, shochu, chilled sake, warm sake, and hire‑zake (hot sake infused with grilled eel fins), allowing you to enjoy your meal at a relaxed pace.
