Rooots Nakanoshima is a culinary venture established in Osaka by chef Seiji Nakano as a new challenge. After a six-month trial period starting January 2024, the restaurant will officially launch in July 2024.

The cuisine is "borderless and innovative." Aiming for a new fusion, Kenta Kakihara, with 11 years of experience in Italy, including as head chef at the two-starred "duomo" in Ragusa, and further experience as sous-chef at the one-star "Agli Amici Rovinj" in Croatia, has been appointed as the head chef. The menu is a collaborative creation by chefs Nakano and Kakihara, offering creative dishes that transcend genres, based on their training in French and Italian cuisine, while highlighting Japanese ingredients.

With a selection of over 500 wines, including grand vins and rare collections, guests can choose from our glass-enclosed walk-in cellar.

Please come and taste the new world envisioned by Seiji Nakano and Kenta Kakihara.

*Note: Mr. Seiji Nakano is usually based at the French restaurant "NAKADO" in Hiroshima. At Rooots Nakanoshima, Mr. Nakano supervises while Mr. Kakihara serves as the chef.

  We will try to accommodate your allergy or dietary preferences by replacing some ingredients, but we may have to decline your reservation if you fall into any of the following categories, in order to enjoy NAKADO’s course cuisine.

  ・Those who are extreme vegetarians, vegans, or have religious reasons that prevent them from eating most of the course ingredients.

• Arrival time:

  Please arrive 5 minutes before your reserved time to ensure a timely start of your meal. If you do not contact us and exceed your reservation time, it will be automatically canceled.

• Dress Code:

  Dress code is smart casual (Please refrain from wearing T-shirts, shorts, and sandals when you visit.)

• Children:

  Guests aged 6 and above, and able to enjoy the course meal. If you wish, please request a “Chartered OMAKASE Course” and fill in the details in the special notes.

• Others:

  Drinks and private room fee(3,300 JPY including tax) are not included in the course price and must be paid on site.
