Upon entering the establishment, guests are greeted by an impressive large single-plank counter made from horse chestnut wood. The warm grain and smooth texture of the wood create a soothing ambiance, inviting visitors into a relaxing space. The private rooms feature a beautiful harmony of zelkova wood and auspicious wave crest pattern latticework on the walls. The wave-like pattern of the latticework, called kissho kumiko, resembles the shape of a fan’s spread and symbolizes prosperity and good fortune, reflecting the careful attention to detail and traditional Japanese aesthetics throughout the space.

The owner, Yasuo Kida, is a seasoned chef who honed his skills at the renowned “Gion Sasaki” and later served as head chef at “Gion Rakumi.” His expertise lies in techniques that maximize the flavors of the ingredients through precise heat application and careful use of oils.
