The Meaning Behind the Name “Kokoroba”

The restaurant’s name is written as 心馬 (Kokoroba).

It reflects the chef’s sincerity, determination, goodwill, and unwavering spirit.

The chef has always cherished the character 心 (kokoro)—the “heart.”

To him, kokoro represents not rational thought, but the genuine emotions and sensibilities that arise naturally from within.

His given name, Kazuma (和馬), can be interpreted as “harmonious horse.”

Guests who have visited the restaurant often remark that a person’s name can truly reflect their character.

Chef Kazuma is a man of strong conviction who follows through once he has set his mind to something.

At the same time, he possesses the calm, gentle presence of a horse—an aura that brings comfort and ease to those around him.

Most importantly, his attention is always directed wholeheartedly toward the guests before him.
